Case Study | Vajranaad

IoT-powered lightning early warning system for faster public alerts.

Vajranaad was built as an end-to-end public safety ecosystem using lightning warning APIs, GIS alert processing, the Doorbeen command portal, cloud infrastructure and Managix-engineered MIZNA IoT devices for automatic siren activation.

Operating Walkthrough

Command workflows, monitoring tools and alert operations were documented for field readiness.

The Vajranaad pilot included operational walkthroughs for software navigation, monitoring dashboards, command workflows, alert review, device status checks and siren activation procedures. Videos are presented as click-to-play media cards so the page stays lightweight and no video file is requested until a visitor chooses to watch it.

Problem

Lightning risk needs automated communication within seconds.

Communities in rural and disaster-prone locations need warning infrastructure that can receive lightning threat data, identify impacted areas and trigger local sirens without waiting for manual intervention.

Solution

Managix connected warning intelligence with field-level siren activation.

We developed Vajranaad with a central command platform, secure .NET-based device communication, GIS and polygon-based alert processing, and custom MIZNA IoT devices that activate siren controllers automatically.

MIZNA IoT Device

Custom field intelligence unit engineered by Managix.

MIZNA was built using Raspberry Pi architecture and custom electronic circuitry for GPS location, device health, power monitoring, heartbeat communication, remote commands, manual alarms and automatic siren activation.

Doorbeen Portal

Centralized command and control for the full ecosystem.

The Doorbeen portal supports live device monitoring, GIS-based lightning visualization, alarm management, device registration, user management, reports, communication logs, manual alarm triggering and historical event tracking.

Automation

From lightning polygon to siren trigger in one workflow.

Earth Networks warning data is received through APIs, disaster management rules are evaluated, impacted locations are identified, commands are sent to MIZNA devices and sirens are activated within seconds.

Cloud Deployment

Built for government infrastructure and future expansion.

The platform was deployed on Government of Bihar State Data Center infrastructure with API synchronization, device communication, Doorbeen application, Chitragupta database and device cluster network components.

System Capabilities

A complete early warning technology stack, not just a siren trigger.

Device registration GPS location mapping Heartbeat health checks Main power notifications Battery backup monitoring Remote alarm trigger Manual alarm support Siren feedback detection Secure bi-directional communication Automatic certificate rotation PCB and circuit design Field deployment readiness
01

Warning Data

Earth Networks generates a lightning warning polygon and the Vajranaad platform consumes the API feed.

02

GIS Evaluation

The system checks impacted locations and evaluates predefined disaster management rules.

03

Command Dispatch

Trigger instructions are sent from the command platform to the corresponding MIZNA field device.

04

Public Alert

The device activates the siren controller and the warning reaches the local community within seconds.

Outcome

A flagship Managix project combining software, IoT, GIS, embedded systems and public safety infrastructure.

Vajranaad demonstrates Managix's capability to design, develop, deploy and maintain end-to-end technology ecosystems involving embedded systems, cloud infrastructure, geospatial intelligence, field hardware, training, command platforms and rural community alerting.
